Bhubaneswar: Three minor boys, who had been missing from Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar, were successfully rescued on Monday.
According to police sources, a rescue and search operation was launched after the minors went missing on Sunday and all three boys were traced in Jagatsinghpur district.
Two of the children are students of Class 9, while the third is a Class 7 student, they said.
The boys are from the Sitanath and Adarsh Basti areas in the city. They had left their respective homes to attend tuition classes on Sunday but did not return home afterwards.
After family members failed to trace them despite searching at all possible locations, including relatives’ houses and tuition centre, a complaint was lodged at Chandrasekharpur Police Station late Sunday night.
Police registered a missing case and launched a probe. CCTV footage from the locality and surrounding areas were examined. Investigation revealed that the boys had gone to Jagatsinghpur. They had been to the house of a relative of one of the boys.
Following this, a team of Commissionerate Police went to Jagatsinghpur and rescued the three safely from th relative’s house.
Investigation is underway to ascertain under what circumstances the children went to Jagatsinghpur.
