Angul: Three persons caught stealing from busy shops were tied up to an electric pole at Phuljhari village under Chhendipada police station limits of Angul district on Sunday.
According to sources, the three accused youth were tied up to an electric pole at Kukurpeta near Phuljhari Chhak by villagers who allegedly roughed them up after they caught them stealing things from two petty shops.
The three, hailing from Bhalugadia under Kaniha police station limits, were handed over to the police.
Chendipada police rescued the three youth from the villagers and seized a long knife (Bhujali) and a motorcycle from their possession.
The accused youth are being interrogated by police at Chhendipada.
