Khurda: Three children were critically injured in an explosion inside a house at Kumarabasta Mangaraj Sahi in the industrial estate of Odisha’s Khurda district on Thursday.
The children were initially admitted to a hospital here. Two among them were later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Police are yet to confirm whether the blast resulted from firecrackers or a bomb. Some samples from the spot have been collected for examination.
Meanwhile, family members claimed that children had purchased some firecrackers to burst during the lifting of Mahadeepa atop a local Shiva temple on the occasion of Maha Shivratri last night. Some of those crackers are later stored at home for future use. They suspect that these exploded this morning leading to the mishap, sources said.
