Nayagarh: Nayagarh SP Rahul Jain has suspended three police officers on the charge of dereliction of duty after they allegedly ignored a complaint regarding series of loot incidents.
Those suspended are SI Hasina Pradhan, ASI Rajeshwari Naik, and constable Purnachandra Mohapatra of Nayagarh Sadar police station.
According to sources, miscreants broke into houses and looted jewelleries and cash amounting to over Rs 20 lakh at Golgola village under Sadar police limits late on June 30. When the villagers approached police for help that night, they were alleged asked to report the matter the following morning. The SP got know about the indifference of the cops while visiting the village on learning about the thefts.
