Jajpur: Three persons were seriously injured after the car in which they were travelling plunged into Kuanriya canal from a bridge near Jhatiapada on National Highway 53 in Odisha’s Jajpur district late on Sunday.
According to sources, the accident took place when the driver lost control over the car, which was headed to Cuttack from Duburi, around 12.30 am. Firefighters reached the spot and rescued the injured. They were sent to Badachana health facility and later shifted to SCB Medical and Hospital in Cuttack as their health condition deteriorated.
Sources further said that there was no railing on the bridge, leading to the accident.
