3 Critical In Car-Bike Collision In Odisha’s Sonepur

Sonepur: Three persons, including a woman, were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle in Odisha’s Sonepur district on Sunday.

The mishap took place near Sukanti Akademi Chhak on the National Highway No. 57 between Sonepur and Balangir this morning, sources said.

Two youths, identified as Bipin Meher and Prashant Sethi, were travelling on a bike on the Highway near Sonepur when the car coming from the opposite direction dashed against their two-wheeler.

The two youths and the woman, who was driving the car, sustained grievous injuries. All the three were rescued and taken to hospital at Sonepur. Later, Prashat was shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla as his conditino deteriorated.

On being informed, a team of police personnel rushed to the site and seized both the vehicles. Investigation is in progress.
