Bhubaneswar: Showcasing the state’s rich art and culture as well as exotic sites for visitors, the tourism extravaganza of ‘Odisha Parab’ is set to begin in Assam’s Guwahati.
The Tourism Department of the Odisha government is scheduled to hold the event at a premier hotel in Guwahati from January 30 to February 1.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who also holds tourism portfolio, and senior officials of the state government are already in Guwahati for the mega event.
The three-day event will celebrate Odisha’s culture, craft and cuisine, said the Tourism Department, said the Deputy CM, who addressed the media in Guwahati ahead of the event.
“I invite the Odia diaspora, the people of Assam, and tourists visiting the state to attend Odisha Parab,” Parida said in a post on X.
The event offers a unique opportunity to experience captivating cultural performances, live demonstrations of traditional crafts, authentic Odia cuisine, and immersive showcases of Odisha’s diverse tourism destinations ranging from heritage and spirituality to nature and adventure, she said.
It may be recalled that the Department of Tourism, in association with several other government agencies, had organised the Odisha Parab in Bangalore from November 15 to 17 last year.
The state government has introduced several measures for the development of tourism sector in Odisha and attract tourists from across the Globe.
The state government recently launched two luxury equipped with world-class facilities to provide more enjoyable experiences to the tourists visiting the state.
Similarly, the government recently launched eco retreat facilities at seven locations across Odisha for 2025-26 season to attract visitors.
