Baripada: President Draupadi Murmu, who is on 3-day visit to Odisha from Monday, will have her lunch at Baripada Circuit House this afternoon.
According to sources, the menu has been carefully crafted according to the dietary preferences of President Murmu, who is a strict vegetarian. The menu mostly contains plant-based dishes and a dessert made with milk products.
Food to be served
Starters: Deep fried papadam (black gram bean crisps), green salad
Main course: Janhi tarkari (ridged gourd cooked with spices), arhar dal
(yellow split peas tempered with cumin, ghee, and onions), served with
mugei chaula (a variety of rice)
Bread: Bajra roti (flat bread made with millet)
Greens: Steamed vegetables, bathua saaga (goosefoot leaves roasted in a
bit of oil)
Dessert: Rasmalai (sweetened cottage cheese balls soaked in saffron
infused condensed milk)
After arriving in Baripada town in a special chopper of the Indian Air Force this morning, the President headed towards Saheed Smruti Bhawan to grace the inaugural session of the 36th Annual Conference and Literary Festival of All India Santali Writers’ Association.
She will later inaugurate an Eklavya Model Residential School at Kuliana.
