Baripada: Three persons were arrested in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district for illegally trafficking country liquor in cold drink bottles in a passenger bus.
Police sources said the three have been identified as Sanyasi Bisoyi, Umakant Das alias Munna Das and Ram Singh alias Putu Singh. While Bisoyi and Das are residents of Bhubaneswar, Singh is from Ambikadeipur village under Udala police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team reportedly intercepted a Bhubaneswar-bound private bus near Udala and seized 180 litres of country liquor packaged in cold drink bottles. The arrested trio admitted before the cops that they have been illegally trafficking country liquor in cold drink bottles regularly and are being paid for each consignment.
Police sources said, they have seized the country liquor and were on the lookout for the mastermind of the racket.
