3 Killed, 1 Critical In Separate Lightning Strikes In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: At least three persons were killed and another sustained critical injury in two separate lightning strike incidents Odisha’s Balasore and Cuttack districts on Saturday.

According to sources, two persons were killed and another was injured after being hit by lightning strike at Raipitamber village under Soro police limits in Balasore district.

While the deceased have been identified as Basanta Das and Narendra Biswal, the injured person has been identified as Surendra Sahoo, all from Raipitamber village.

The three were working in the field in the afternoon when lightning struck.
Similarly, a man died after being hit by lightning strike at Bhogara village under the jurisdiction of Khuntuni police station in Cuttack district.

The man, identified as Asutosh Tripathy, was sitting at a shop when lightning struck. He was immediately rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
