3 Killed, 4 Injured In Road Mishaps At Different Places In Odisha

Dhenkanal/Kalahandi: An Armed Police Reserve constable was killed while another sustained injuries when a motorcycle they were riding was hit by a Hyva truck that lost control near Mandar under Gondia police limits of Dhenkanal on Sunday.

One constable died on the spot whereas the other was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The police rushed to the spot and seized the vehicle. The body of the dead constable was sent for post-mortem.

In another accident, two persons were killed and three others sustained critical injuries when their van collided head-on with a truck at Amapada in Kalahandi district on Sunday morning.

The dead have been identified as Ganga Pradhan and Shashi Arukh of Bhawanipatna.
Sources said a wedding party was returning to the bridegroom’s house in Bhawanipatna when the accident happened. The injured were rushed to Bhawanipatna District Headquarters Hospital. The police later reached the spot and seized the vehicle.
