Bhubaneswar: In a tragic mishap, three youths were killed after a speeding car dashed against their motorcycle on Puri bypass road in Tankapani area on Bhubaneswar.
As per preliminary information, the mishap took place near Sai Temple in Tankapani area under the jurisdiction of Badagada Police Station in the wee hours when the three youths were travelling on the bike on the bypass road.
The speeding car rammed into the motorcycle, leaving the three critically injured. Sources said the car was proceeding towards Puri from Jagatsinghpur. Locals said the three died on the spot under the impact of the collision.
On being informed, a police team rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them to the Capital Hospital here for post-mortem.
Police have detained the owner of the car for questioning and started an investigation into the incident. Steps have been taken to examine the CCTV footage in nearby shops.
