Koraput: Three youths were killed after a scooter they were riding fell off a mountain road into a gorge in Odisha’s Koraput district on Wednesday.
As per preliminary reports, the deceased persons hailed from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. They were returning home after a visit to Koraput in connection with some work when the mishap took place this evening.
The mishap took place on Langalabeda Ghat between Koraput and Jeypore under the jurisdiction of Narayanpatna police station in the district as the two-wheeler fell off the hilly road. The scooter fell into a deep gorge.
On being informed, a police team along with fire service personnel rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation. The bodies were recovered by the rescue team and sent for postmortem.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
