3 Killed As Truck Hits Bike In Odisha’s Angul

Angul: Three persons were killed after a truck dashed against the motor-cycle they were riding in Panchamahala area on the National Highway (NH)-55 in Odisha’s Angul district of on Saturday.

As per preliminary information, the mishap took place when the deceased, identified as Krupa Dehury (48), Rajendra Pradhan (21) and Subrat Pradhan (17), were proceeding towards Angul from their village Derjanga in the morning.

As they were moving on the highway, a speeding truck hit their motorcycle from the rear near Panchamahala and dragged the three for some distance, killing them on the spot.

Sources said Krupa and Rajendra were fish traders and Subrat traveled with them on the motorcycle to attend a coaching class in Angul.

Angry over the incident, a large number of locals staged a blockade on the NH demanding compensation to the families of the deceased.

On receiving information, police visited the spot and seized the truck. Further investigation is in progress.
