Bhawanipatna: At least three people were killed and six others critically injured after a truck hit an autorickshaw in which they were travelling at a village in Junagarh area of Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Tuesday.
The mishap took place near Dasigaon village under Junagarh Block in the district. The autorickshaw carrying passengers from Thuamul Rampur block was proceeding towards Junagarh when the mishap took place., sources said
The truck dashed against the three-wheeler at Chikili Chhak. Nine people including the driver of the autorickshaw sustained critical injuries.
On being informed, police personnel from Chiliguda outpost reached the spot and took all the injured persons to Kalampur Community Health Centre (CHC), where three of them were declared dead. The rest are undergoing treatment.
The victims are yet to be identified, while police have launched an investigation into the incident.
