Bhubaneswar: Three persons were killed in separate road mishaps in Odisha’s Keonjhar and Koraput districts on Saturday.
According to sources, one Basanta Das of Samantarapur village near Dhenkikote in Keonjhar district was run over by a truck while he was walking near a petrol pump.
Ghatagaon police have registered a case in this connection and sent the body of the deceased for autopsy.
In another case, two motorcyclists were killed after being knocked down by a speeding truck near the overbridge under Koraput Sadar police limits today evening.
The identity of the deceased was yet to be established. Koraput police have registered a case and investigating further.
In both the cases, drivers of the trucks fled from the spot after the mishap. Police have launched searches to nab the drivers, sources added.
