Mayurbhanj/Bhadrak/Khurda: At least three persons were killed after being struck by lightning in different parts of the state on Sunday evening.
The first incident took place at Baulaghara village under Suliapada police station limits in Mayurbhanj district, where a woman identified as Salma Soren was hit by lightning while she was standing under a tree to protect herself from rain, police sources said.
At Bhadraswar village in Bhadrak district, a youth identified as Deepak Majhi died when he was struck by lightning.
Similarly, a man suffered serious injuries after being struck by lightning and died at Tandala village under Begunia block in Khurda district. The deceased was identified as Purna Chandra Swain.
