Bhubaneswar: Three persons, including two women, were killed and 13 others were injured in multiple-vehicle collision in Odisha’s Koraput district on Friday afternoon.

ccording to sources, the accident took place around 2.30 pm near Bijapur Square under Borigumma police limits when an SUV with Chhattisgarh registration number collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and then crashed into an auto-rickshaw, carrying 15 passengers, from the rear before colliding with a second motorcycle.
The SUV skidded off the road and fell into a nearby culvert following the series accidents.
The dead include two auto passengers and a motorcyclist. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and those with critical injuries later shifted to SLN Medical College and Hospital at Koraput.
Police have sent the bodies for postmortem and launched a probe into the accident, which is suspected to have occurred when the speeding SUV attempted to overtake the auto.
