Bhubaneswar: Three children have gone missing within three days from different parts of Bhubaneswar, prompting the Commissionerate Police to launch an intensive search operation.
The first case was reported from Dhauli area, where 12-year-old Pradyumna Pradhan who studies in Class 6 went missing under mysterious circumstances. Soon after, two minor girls — Sumitra Dehury from Tarini Nagar in Salia Sahi and Shubhashree Nayak from Hatiasuni area of Salia Sahi — were also reported missing.
While search operations are underway by the missing cell, Commissionerate Police has announced a cash reward of R
s 25,000 for anyone providing credible information that could help trace the missing children.
Police officials confirmed that search teams have been deployed across Bhubaneswar, with special focus on vulnerable areas and transit points. Officials are also speaking to the family members and neighbours as well as scanning CCTV footage to gain information leading to their disappearance.
Commissionerate Police has formed a special team to trace the children and has assured that all possible angles are being investigated, including whether the cases are linked or isolated incidents.
The announcement of a reward is aimed at encouraging public cooperation, as authorities believe community support could play a crucial role in locating the children quickly. Appeals have been made to the public to share any information that could assist in the search, emphasizing that even small leads could prove vital.
