Bhubaneswar: Police busted a gang of mobile thieves in the city’s Laxmisagar area on Sunday.
According to police, three persons hailing from Jharkhand were arrested and 103 phones were seized from their possession.
Sources said the gang members targeted people with costly phone brands such as iPhone, OnePlus, etc. They mostly operated in crowded public places and roadsides in the city.
Police had launched an investigation after a city denizen lodged a complaint that his iPhone-12 was stolen.
When police finally zeroed in on the thieves on Sunday to arrest them, they were in the process of packing the stolen phones so as to sell them.
