Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,336 on Monday with three more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to the Health Department sources, one death each has been reported from Angul, Balasore and Ganjam districts.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1.A 76 years old male of Angul district.
2.A 48 years old female of Balasore district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Post Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Congential Cyanotic Heart Disease.
3.A 67 years old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Multiple Myeloma, Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,451 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.
There were 134 casualties due to the disease in the state in October and 346 in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 43 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
