3 Nabbed From Kolkata For Honey-Trapping Delhi-Based Cricketer

Kolkata: Three persons have been arrested for allegedly honey-trapping, blackmailing and extorting money from a Delhi-based cricketer, IANS reported quoting police on Sunday.

The arrested have been identified as Rishav Chanda, Subhonkar Biswas and Shiva Singh while another accused is absconding. The identity of the victim was not disclosed by police to protect his reputation.

The cricket had come in contact with the accused through a dating app when in Kolkata for some matches at the end of October and they promised to hook him up with someone of the opposite sex of his choice.

On November 1, he met the four accused at Baguiati and was asked to choose from some photographs. As he spent time with the girl, his intimate moments with her were recorded secretly.

The same day, the accused showed him the videos and demanded a hefty sum of money. He immediately transferred Rs 60,000 to their accounts through net- banking and also handed them over his gold chain and costly mobile phone.

As the ransom calls continued, he contacted the local Baguiati police station on November 2 and police nabbed the three from the Baguiati area on Saturday.
