Boudh: Three police officers were suspended by the Boudh Superintendent of Police (SP) on Friday for allegedly setting free ganja traders and also keeping marijuana in government quarters.
The suspended officers have been identified as Baghiapada outpost officer Sanatan Pradhan and two constables-Sanjeev Pradhan and Keshab Pradhan.
According to sources, ganja weighing 13 kg and a bike were recovered from the police outpost and the police officers were summoned to the SP office for interrogation.
Later, Inspector in charge (IIC) Madhabananda was assigned to carry out an investigation. The cops were placed under suspension after they confessed to their crime.
Notably, marijuana smugglers allegedly used to give bribes to these cops to let them run their businesses smoothly.
A probe has been initiated to ascertain further details in this regard.
