Bhubaneswar: Three educational institutions of Odisha, IIT Bhubaneswar, NIT-Rourkela and KIIT University have found place in the ‘Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2019’.
According to the THE World University Rankings, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has been bracketed at 601-800 among 1,258 best institutions worldwide.
Within India, IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 10th along with few other institutions among 49 considered for the purpose. The strongest pillar of the institute has been Research Citations, where it is ranked 424 in the world.
On this achievement, IIT Bhubaneswar Director Prof RV Raja Kumar said, “IIT Bhubaneswar has been striving and engaged in realising its vision and mission of becoming globally well-respected, and the respectable entry into the THE world university rankings, is the first milestone reached in this endeavor. We are engaged in well-planned initiatives including rising the standards of the institute at all fronts.”
The KIIT Deemed University has made an impressive debut in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019.
It has got a place in this coveted and much awaited ranking, securing an impressive position of 1001+.
Expressing happiness over the development, KIIT and KISS founder Prof Achyuta Samanta said, “This achievement has been possible due to the blessings of the Almighty coupled with the hard work and relentless efforts of the staff and students.”
NIT Rourkela have also been placed between 601-800 ranks out of 1,258 institutions in the world.
Notably, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Times Higher Education (THE). At present, universities across 86 countries are represented. It is the only global university performance table to judge research-intensive universities across all of their core missions.
Rankings parameters include teaching, research, citations, industry income, international outlook as well as number of students, number of students per staff, international students and male and female student ratio.
