Rourkela: Three of a family were killed in an accident near Rengalbedha Chhak under Koida police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh late on Tuesday.
According to sources, the SUV, carrying former Koida sarpanch Sandhyarani Nayak and her family, was hit by a truck at Rengalbedha Chhak on NH 251, just 5 km from Koida, around 2.30 am while they returning from Saras in Keonjhar district after attending a wedding.
Two babies and a 20-year-old girl died on the spot while the mother of the deceased children, Shantilata, and the former sarpanch sustain critical injuries. They were rescued and rushed to the Community Health Centre at Koida and later shifted to Rourkela Government Hospital for further treatment.
