Nayagarh: An ambulance veered off National Highway 57 and crashed into a roadside house near Buguda Chhak under Daspalla police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Saturday night, leaving three members of the family s
eriously injured.
According to sources, the ambulance, which was not carrying any patients or passengers at the time, lost control and smashed through the walls of the house belonging to local resident Babula Gantayat. The impact caused the structure to partially collapse, catching the sleeping occupants, Gantayat’s wife and their two daughters, completely off guard.
The three injured were rescued from the damaged house and rushed to the Community Health Centre at Daspalla for treatment.
A case has been registered and police are investigating if over-speeding by the driver contributed to the crash.
