Baripada: Three persons including a woman were killed as a loaded truck rammed into an SUV in which they travelling in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.
According to sources, while four persons including two children were going in a Bolero in the evening, an iron ore-laden truck came from opposite direction and almost ran over the SUV on Bangiriposhi ghat road.
A man, a woman and driver of the Bolero died on the spot. On being informed by the locals, police and Fire personnel reached the spot. They had to use a gas cutter to rescue the two children including a girl from the mangled vehicle. The children were rushed in critical condition to a hospital at Bangiriposi.
While the identity of the victims has not been confirmed, police suspect that they belong to one family. Following the mishap, movement of vehicular traffic has been affected on the ghat road.
