Puri: The local administrations have declared three areas in the district as containment zones.
Manikarnika Sahi in Puri town, Paparanga village under Pipli block and Gadarodanga village under Brahmagiri block are the new containment zones in the district, according to sources.
With the COVID-19 spreading wings to new areas, district collector Balwant Singh visited Sakhigopala, Mangalpur, Badashankha, and Kanas to take stock of the implementation of the protocols to contain the coronavirus.
He held a discussion with the head of the COVID Management Committee and members of the COVID-19 care facilities in the villages on coronavirus preparedness.
The district has reported total COVID-19 positive cases of 376. Of them, 288 have recovered while two have succumbed to the disease, and 85 are active cases, according to the Health and Family Welfare department.
