Sambalpur: Three school students were critically injured when a truck dashed against the autorickshaw carrying them near Maneswar Halipali area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Saturday.
As per preliminary information, the mishap took place near on the National Highway No. 55 near Halipali when the students were on their way to the school in the morning.
The autorickshaw in which the students were travelling skidded off the road after being hit by the truck and three children sustained grievous injuries.
The injured students have been rescued and admitted to the Sambalpur district headquarter hospital (DHH).
A team of police personnel visited the site and seized the truck. The driver of the truck had fled the scene soon after the accident.
