Niali: Peeved over deaths of three more sheep at Jamugaradi village of Niali block in Cuttack district, a group of villagers blocked Phulnakhara-Niali road at Kaliaghai Square on Thursday demanding adequate compensation to the sheep owners.
The agitators, who staged the blockade by placing the carcasses on the road and burning tyres, have threatened to intensify the stir if adequate compensation is not paid to them and the sheep killer not caught at the earliest.
The sheep were reportedly found dead at the cattle shed of Ashok Jena at Jamugaradi village.
On Tuesday, three sheep were killed, while six others sustained injuries at Nati village under the same block after being attacked by the unidentified animal.
Meanwhile, an 18-member team of forest personnel from Similipal have intensified search operation through aerial surveillance by flying drone cameras at different places.
