Balangir: Three students were rescued in an unconscious condition from Kantabanji railway station in Odisha’s Balangir district on Wednesday.
The three were admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Kantabanji after being rescued from the station.
As per preliminary information, five students were returning after appearing for the SSC examination in Sambalpur and the incident took place when they had stopped at Kantabanji railway station on Tuesday night.
An unidentified man allegedly offered them some cold drinks, apparently laced with sedatives, after which the three of them fell unconscious. The condition of one student is said to be stable, while another has been missing after the incident.
After the students fell unconscious, the unidentified person allegedly looted their belongings including their mobile phones and cash.
On being informed, police personnel reportedly reached the CHC and launched a probe. Further details are awaited.
