Kendrapada: In a shocking incident, a Class VII student of a private school was allegedly raped by her teachers repeatedly over a long time in Rajkanika area of Kendrapada district in Odisha.
The incident came to light after the minor girl narrated the ordeal to her mother last month. As per information, police have detained three teachers and a female employee of the school after the girl’s family lodged a complaint.
As per the allegation, the girl was subjected to prolonged sexual exploitation by her teachers who raped her repeat
edly. The accused allegedly resorted to threat and intimidation to silence her. Authorities have launched an investigation based on the complaint.
Sources said the girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on Wednesday. Treating the issue as highly sensitive, the committee promptly began its inquiry.
Chairperson of the district CWC Swagatika Patra said the complaint was received on February 18 and the investigation began the next day. Officials have recorded the survivor’s statement and visited the school to collect information.
At the same time, Rajkanika police have also launched their own probe into the allegation and detained three teachers and a female staff member of the school for questioning. Police personnel also visited the student’s residence to collect additional details.
The school administration and police are yet to issue any official statement regarding the incident.
