Puri: Four persons were injured, one of them critically, after a large chunk of plaster fell from the ceiling at a room in a high school, which was recently transformed under 5T initiative, in Odisha’s Puri district on Wednesday.
The incident took place at 5T Edabansha Padhihary High School at Astaranga in the district when some teachers were having a discussion at the staff common room, sources said.
While a lady teacher, identified as Priyadarshini Senapati, was grievously injured, two other teachers and a Cluster Resource Centre (CRC) member also sustained injuries in the incident.
The injured were sent to Balikuda hospital. As per reports, Senapati was later shifted to Bhubaneswar for treatment.
It may be noted here that similar incidents have been reported in the recent past from some schools which have been transformed under the 5T initiative of the Odisha government.
