Srinagar: Indian Army personnel foiled an infiltration bid by killing three terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday.
Weapons were recovered and war-like stores found in the Keran sector.
The operation was underway till well into the evening.
“3 Terrorists have been eliminated in the ongoing anti-infiltration operation on the #LoC in Keran Sector, along with recovery of weapons and other war-like stores,” Chinar Corps posted on X.
Earlier in the day, security forces launched the operation,
Codenamed Dhanush II, the operation was launched earlier in the day in Keran sector of Kupwara after getting information about the presence of militants.
What is worrying is that the latest infiltration bid by terrorists comes amid the annual Amarnath Yatra with thousands of devotees from across the country assembling at the Jammu base camp everyday.
The last few weeks have seen a spate of infiltration attempts and terrorist attacks in Jammu & Kashmir. Four locations in Kathua, Doda, Reasi and Udhampur districts have been targeted, resulting in the deaths of 15 people including 9 pilgrims and 6 security personnel, while 46 others were injured.
