3-Tier Security For Odisha Assembly Monsoon Session Beginning Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the monsoon session of Odisha Assembly, DGP Sunil Bansal accompanied by Commissioner of Police (CP) Saumendra Priyadarshi and Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh supervised the security arrangements at Vidhan Sabha on Thursday amid possibilities of agitations by teachers and many other organisations.

The eight-day delayed monsoon session will begin on Friday with the election of the Speaker.

“Three-layer security has been deployed here – the internal, the intermediate, and the outer coordinate. Thirty platoons of security forces have been provided to the Commissionerate Police to maintain law and order during the monsoon session of Odisha Assembly. This is in addition to the manpower already available with them. The Bhubaneswar DCP will be in charge of the overall arrangement here,” the DGP said.

He further said that special arrangements have been made for smooth traffic flow along the campus of the legislative assembly and to ensure that the general public is also not inconvenienced.  “I have reviewed the entire security arrangement in consultation with Chief of State Intelligence and other senior officials. We are confident that the session will be completed without any hassle,” he added.
