3 Women Among 4 Held For AC Unit Theft At Lok Seva Bhawan In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Four persons, including three women, were arrested by police for allegedly stealing air conditioning (AC) units and copper wires from Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

The arrested persons have been identified as Urmila Pradhan, Krishna Bisoy, Kumari Pradhan, and Prafulla Kumar Jena of Keshari Nagar Basti in Unit-5 under Capital Police Station.

Sources said the arrested persons had access to the Lok Seva Bhawan premises as they were engaged as labourers. However, they allegedly dismantled the outdoor AC units installed on the rooftop of the conference hall of the Rural Development and extracted copper wires with the aim to sell it.

After learning about the theft, officials filed a complaint at the Capital Police Station seeking action against the accused persons.

Following the complaint, police started an investigation and identified the accused persons based on the footages of the CCTV cameras installed in and around of the Lok Seva Bhawan.

Police arrested all the accused persons and seized several outdoor AC units and copper wires from their possession. Further investigation is underway.
