Bhubaneswar: Three women from Salia Sahi slum of the city were arrested by Nayapalli police for spreading terror in the area by running a kangaroo court.
The three women are Sarojini Sahu, Anita Nayak and Kavita Bhuiyan. The self-styled Lady Dons, used to settle disputes among minors in the slum and when they accused did not follow their diktat or pay the fine amount imposed on them, the families were also threatened.
The accused women called a meeting after two minors engaged in an argument on Sunday. Then, they allegedly accused a minor to be guilty and fined his family Rs 5000. They also threatened to boycott the family if they failed to pay the amount and cut off electricity as well as water supply to their house.
When the matter was reported to police, they reached the spot and nabbed the three .
