Balangir: Three women labourers were electrocuted while two others sustained severe burn injuries when an 11 KV wire accidentaly fell on them at Gaondapalli village under Agalpur block in Balangir
district on Monday.
Two among the deceased were identified as Damayanti Sahu and Rebati Sahu of Bharasuja village of the district.
According to reports, the women were working in a field when the overhead high tension wire snapped and fell on them. Rebati and Damayanti died on the spot, the other woman succumbed to her
injuries on the way to hospital.
The injured, identified as Tapasi Sahu and Rashmita Sahu, were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
On being informed about the incident, police and electrical employees reached the spot and started investigation.
