Kendrapada: Three women members of a local jatra troupe died as the SUV in which they were travelling skidded off the road and crashed into a roadside tree near Ostapur under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapada district on Monday.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
According to sources, four more persons were also critically injured in the accident, which took place while they were returning to Cuttack after a theatre performance in Naranpur village. The injured were rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) and three among them later shifted SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
“We received three women, who were brought dead. Three persons with critical head injuries have been referred to Cuttack while one with minor injuries is undergoing treatment and is stable,” informed Medical Officer of Kendrapada DHH Debashis Sahoo.
