Keonjhar: Three workers were critically injured after an oxygen cylinder exploded at an iron ore pellet plant in Barbil area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday.
Sources said the incident took place at the iron ore pellet plant of Arya Iron & Steel Company Private Limited (AISCO) at Barbil when the workers were engaged in work.
The injured were identified as Prem Shankar Sharma, Krishna Das and Karan Mahanta of Barbil area.
The incident took place when oxygen cylinders were being unloaded inside the plant. The injured were rescued and immediately rushed to a nearby health facility for treatment.
They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack as their conditions deteriorated.
No senior plant official was immediately available for comment. Further details are awaited.
