Bhubaneswar: At least three workers were injured after the roof of an under-construction gate collapsed at the College of Agriculture under Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
According to information, several workers were engaged in casting the roof of the main gate when the centring suddenly gave way.
Sources said over ten workers were engaged at the site when the mishap took place and three of them allegedly sustained injuries. They were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Workers at the site reportedly claimed that the structure collapsed because the centring had not been installed properly. The sudden failure of the centring caused the freshly cast portion of the concrete gate roof to come down, trapping or striking workers present at the site.
