Bhubaneswar: Police arrested three persons, suspected to be planning to commit robbery with country-made guns, in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar, acting on reliable information, a team from Saheed Nagar police station and members of ‘Team 60’ conducted a raid in front of Bhawani Mall in Saheed Nagar and apprehended the three persons.
The arrested persons were armed with two country-made guns loaded with magazines. The police have also recovered 7 rounds of 7.65 mm live cartridges, a motorcycle and a scooter from their possession.
It is suspected that they were planning to commit dacoity or robbery at any place or important shop in the area. The interrogation of the accused persons and investigation of the case was going on.
The three persons were identified as Ranjan Kumar Nayak alias Ronnie (23) of Jharpada, Mukesh Sahoo (20) of Sabar Sahi and Arunajeet Naik (26) of Old Town.
