Bhubaneswar: As part of the 125th birth anniversary celebration of Odisha’s first Chief Minister ‘Utkal Keshari’ Harekrushna Mahatab, a special art camp dedicated to his life was held at the Kalinga Art Gallery in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The state government has announced year-long activities to honour Mahatab’s legacy. The art camp was part of these celebrations.
The art camp was held from November 10 to 12 and featured 30 distinguished artists from different districts of Odisha. Their artworks, based on the life and contributions of Dr Mahatab, will be featured in upcoming exhibitions.
In today’s closing ceremony, Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, highlighted Dr Mahatab’s inspirational legacy. He emphasised the importance of drawing inspiration from Mahatab’s work and said the exhibitions aimed at familiarising the youth with Mahatab’s life, dedication and contributions to Odisha.
He also felicitated all the artists on the occasion. Bijay Ketan Upadhyay, Director of Culture Department, Subrat Mallik, Principal of Bibhuti Kanungo College of Arts & Crafts and other senior officials of Culture department were present.
