Bhubaneswar: As many as 30 coronavirus patients have recovered from the disease, taking the cured tally in the state to 196.
This was informed by the additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Pradipta Mahapatra at a press briefing here on Saturday.
He said that 1,33,245 migrant Odia workers have returned to the state by 2 pm on Saturday, of which the maximum number of people are from Ganjam district (55,567), followed by Balasore (11,368), Cuttack (8198), Kendrapada (7457) and Bhadrak (7273).
“All arrangements have been made for daily health check-up of the migrants at temporary medical camps (TMCs) under the direct supervision of the sarpanches. Those showing symptoms are being shifted to COVID Care Centres,” Mahapatra added.
He further said that efforts are on to increase the bed strength to more than 5000 in the COVID hospitals in Ganjam district and additional 1000 beds in the other four districts where migrants have returned in large numbers.
Mahapatra also informed that the state now has 200 ventilators, while an additional 224 ventilators will be procured in a phased manner.
