Pipili: Police on Sunday seized as many as 32 cartons of illicit
liquor from an auto-rickshaw near Pipili toll gate in Puri district.
Three people were arrested in connection with the seizure.
A raid was carried out by a team of Pipili police led by
inspector-in-charge Sarat Kumar Sahoo, intercepted the vehicle after
putting a blockade near the toll gate. Following the search, at least 32
cartons containing around 160 litres of liquor was seized and the trio
including the auto-rickshaw driver identified as Tofan Behera were
arrested.
According to police, Behera, a liquor trader, was supplying the liquor
without a licence.
