Berhampur: A total of 32 children were rescued from Berhampur railway station in Ganjam district on Friday.
According to sources, the children, including 27 boys and five girls, were rescued by railway police and members of Indian Society for Rural Development (ISRD)-Childline officials while reportedly being trafficked to Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Mumbai, Surat and Tamil Nadu.
Acting on a specific information, railway police personnel along with ISRD-Childline officials raided the station and managed to rescue them.
The children will be rehabilitated and efforts are on contact their family members, sources added.
