Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Bhubaneswar dropped to 173 on Monday from 293 the previous day.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 48 of the new infections are from quarantine and 125 local contacts
Of the local contact cases, 9 cases each have been reported from Old Town, followed by 8 from Rasulgarh and 7 each from Khandagiri, and Pokhariput.
While 258 more patients have recovered from the disease, the toll climbed to 994 with four more deaths being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
The city now has 3,255 active cases while the affected tally have gone up to 1,06,732, the BMC stated.
Bhubaneswar currently has the highest number patients diagnosed with COVID in the state. Khurda which is in red zone has 2557 active cases.
