Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,377 on Sunday with two more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to the Health and Family Welfare department, a 34-year-old man with comorbidity from Dhenkanal died of the disease while the other dead was reported from Jagatsinghpur.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1.A 34 years old male of Dhenkanal district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
2.A 73 years old male of Jagatsinghpur district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease & Hypothyroidism.
Odisha has reported 6,492 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.
There were 134 casualties in the state in October and 346 in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 46 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
