35-Yr-Old Of Khurda Among 3 More COVID Casualties In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,508 on Friday with three more deaths being confirmed in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Department, the deaths were reported from Khurda, Cuttack and Sundargarh.

Details of the deceased after an audit:

1.A 90 years old female of Cuttack district.

2.A 35 years old male of Khurda district.

3.A 80 years old female of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from hypertension.

Odisha has reported 6,533 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.

There were 80 casualties in the state in November, 134 in October and 346 in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.

The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 48 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
