Bhubaneswar: As many 36 posts of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) are lying vacant in the state, the state Assembly was informed on Monday.
In a written reply in the House, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that of the total 248 sanctioned posts of IAS for the state, there are 212 are in position.
He further stated that out of the 212 serving officers, 25 officers are now on central deputation. Necessary steps are being taken to fill up the vacancy through direct recruitment and promotion, said Majhi.
The reply did not provide a department-wise breakup of the vacant IAS posts.
